    Workshops, Intensives, Consultations

NOTE: all workshops, intensives or consultations are self-pay only

    TERMINOLOGY

Workshop: a psycho-educational/experiential training (e.g. mindful eating training, meditation training, emotional self-regulation training); all workshops are self-pay; workshops may last 2, 3 or 4 hours, depending on the topic and scope of training.

Intensive: an "intensive" is a prolonged, same-day clinical engagement designed to address an acute relational or functional impasse.  Here are some examples:

Affair Recovery - a couple's therapy intensive to process an affair.

Relational Tune-Up - a couple's therapy intensive designed to enhance co-existence, emotional intimacy, understanding, forgiveness and mutual acceptance.

Anger Management Intensive - a same-day intensive designed to understand causes of one's anger and to initiate a program of emotional self-regulation and impulse control.

Habit Change Intensive - a same-day intensive program designed to help you mobilize motivation to change, identify and learn change-specific skills, and to leverage an additional level of awareness to help you modify your behavior.

"Confessional" Intensive - I am no priest (which is why I used quotation marks).  Furthermore, I believe that we do our best and we mean well.  And I have a way of demonostrating that.  This radically humanistic approach that I have developed over the years allows me to help my clients leverage self-acceptance, work through shame and reduce/eliminate guilt.  But even if none of this clicks, getting things off your chest in a confidential manner can still be profoundly liberating.

Case Consultation: an intensive analysis/discussion of a life-situation.  Here are some examples:

Decision-Making Impasse - Something came up for you.  You are not sure how to proceed.  Perhaps, it's a job offer that requires relocation.  Or some other kind of existential curve-ball.  Point is - you are unsure.  A case-consultation will help you examine relevant factors and variables that should inform your decision-making.  A case-consultation can help you crystallize a course of action or identify sources of uncertainty and coping strategies.

Significant Other Crisis - Say, you are concerned about your adult son's substance use, you are wondering about what, if anything, you can do.  A case-consultation can help you figure out how to position yourself in this complex situation.
