    Publicity Updates

I have not maintained the publicity page in a while: my apologies.  A quick recap since the last entry ...

A major highlight is that my approach to dealing with self-criticalnessa and perfectionism has been, in fact, empirically validated. A recent, randomized study—published by Mindfulness Journal—shows that my approach (which I described in my 2010 book Present Perfect) is effective as a standalone intervention. The study found that those who had read the Present Perfect book experienced a statistically significant reduction of self-criticalness, a result that was still maintained at a six weeks follow-up (Wimberley, Mintz, & Suh, Mindfulness, Nov. 2015).

Another big highlight: I've gone international with my workshops - this past summer I had a great pleasure teaching mindfulness-based internventions in Australia (through TATRA).

What else?  My work has been mentioned in the O, Oprha Winfrey Magazine (August 2016 issue).  Here's the pic with the quote.

What else?  While in Australia, I got to meet Ven. Tang of the Thich Quang Duc Monastery in Melbourne.  Two of my books, Present Perfect and Lotus Effect, were dedicated to Thich Quang Duc, the Burning Monk.  It was a privilege to meet Ven. Tang and spend some time with him.  Here's a pic to go with that moment.

What else?  I am sure I'm forgetting something.  Oh, well ...

Ah, yes, another translation, this time of Reinventing the Meal into Portuguese.
